Three Sarawak juniors with Harimau Muda B

Good thing is, one of these player were coming from my ex-school, whech have seen great achievment since 1991, where SMK Gedong first ever clinched "first title" selepas selama ni jadi skuad belasahan ..... SMKG trained six month early from any other team, and has since make it a habit, jadi dari situ SMKG develop jadi salah satu skuad / team yang di geruni bukan sahaja di sekitar Kuching tapi Sarawak.

KUCHING: Three of Sarawak’s junior footballers have reported for the Harimau Muda B squad and resumed training with the rest of the other national Under-19 trainees.
Sarawak Football Development Programme (SFDP) director, Lucas Kallang, disclosed that the three 18-year-olds were selected by Football Association Malaysia (FAM) talent scouts who were here during last year’s Sarawak Cup tourney in Miri.
“We are very proud of them. Their selection into the national junior squad has shown that we have players with great potential,” he said. The three players are  Shirin Tambi previously from SMK Tabuan Jaya Sports School, Mohd Ibrahim Jobli from SMK Gedong and Mohd Hafiz Saperi from SMK Bako.
Ibrahim played as a winger for his school team while Shirin and Hafiz both played in the midfield before they joined the national junior squad.
According to Lucas, many other local junior players also impressed FAM’s talent scouts but only the trio were eventually selected.
Kallang also observed that there are a good number of junior players included in the state teams for the President’s Cup and Premier League.
National Harimau Muda A chief coach Ong Kim Swee announced during his visit to Sarawak last month that the three local juniors were selected to join the B or back-up squad under coach Mazlan Wahed.
Incidentally, Ong and Mazlan were teammates in Sarawak’s Bujang Senang outfit back in the 1990s.
Shirin, Ibrahim and Hafiz bring the number of state junior players who are attached to national junior squads to six.
The other three – Saiful Wazizi Mohd Ali, Rahman Ismawi and Mohd Haziq Hossain – are currently with the privately owned Frenz United Football Academy (FUFA).
Saiful, Rahman and Haziq had their taste of international football when they represented Frenz United Malaysia in the recent Frenz International Football Championship which saw participation by four foreign teams from Indonesia, Iran, Czech Republic and Thailand.
Frenz United Malaysia defeated the National Under-15 side to finish third in the tournament and bagged the US$15,000 prize money.
